Our dream…

We hope to provide a community at no or minimal cost for survivors of Spiritual Abuse. Right now, our groups start with a four week class on trauma and the unique aspects of Spiritual Abuse. Participants will enjoy a private online group where they can continue to interact with one another. After the class, each individual will have the opportunity to join a larger online group to continue interacting and growing together.

Connect to other survivors

The Tears of Eden support group was instrumental to my recovery journey by helping me know I am not alone in my experiences and the harm I endured. The teachings and discussions gave me clarity and language to describe the dynamics at play. Being heard and seen in places I was disregarded, shut down, and harmed was validating and healing. Since we are harmed in relationships, we need safe relationships to heal. I highly recommend this support group to others seeking healing from the effects of spiritual abuse.

Help Tears of Eden host TWO groups in 2024!

We’ve been piloting our groups for two years now and have built a program that allows survivors to share their stories and receive validation and compassion in a small group of 8-12 people.

Because we value treating people well and intend to build a sustainable program, we are moving forward with our desire to compensate the mental health practitioners who lead these groups, while currently keeping these groups free to participants. See giving options here: https://www.tearsofeden.org/support

Each group costs around $3,000 to run. So we are hoping to raise a total of $6,000 specifically for these groups. If we raise the funds, we will host the groups. If we don’t, we will wait until 2025 to have our next group! It’s really that simple.

Currently, we have over 100 people signed up as interested. Our latest group filled up in three hours. This is not a small need, therefore, we are going to be intentional about making sure we can sustain this program in a way that is healthy and compassionate toward participants, as well as the people who are leading the groups.

Please consider giving. If you are someone who has participated in one of our groups and has the ability to make this accessible to others, please consider donating so other folks can have access as well.

The Tears of Eden support group in 2023 was a life changing experience for me. It let me know I am not alone in how I feel, what I have experienced, and how damaging spiritual abuse can truly be on a daily basis. In my cohort, we formed a close bond with each other and I am still actively speaking with several cohort members as they have become friends and a safe space for me. I learned that we can hold space for others, even if we may not agree with everything that person says. The facilitators do an amazing job of making sure things stay on track and providing not only a safe space, but amazing psychoeducation on the effects of spiritual abuse on our body, mind, soul, and spirit. If you are a current or former sponsor of Tears of Eden, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to facilitate my healing. If you are someone looking for a sign to donate to this organization, this is a bright sign!

We hope to provide a community at no or minimal cost for survivors of Spiritual Abuse. We have been working on this since the beginning of 2021, piloting our first support group over summer 2021. We are moving slowly, knowing we will be grouping those with collective trauma in one spot. This can be beautiful and healing, and we want to make sure each participant has the tools they need to exercise agency over their own healing process while honoring the experience of others.

Right now, our groups start with a four week class on trauma and the unique impact of Spiritual Abuse. Participants will enjoy a private online group where they can continue to interact with one another. After the class each individual will have the opportunity to join a larger online group to continue interacting and growing together.
